"What is bioluminescence"?
Bioluminescence occurs within live microscopic organisms usually a plankton within Puerto Rico's bay's. The most common named "pyrhodinium-bahamense" or "dinoflagellates", by the mixing of 2 chemicals; one protein and the other an enzyme by the names luciferen and luciferase.
These two when combined create the worlds most efficient form of light known today to man as bioluminescence and easily is mistaken with 'phosphorescence', which we know is a synthetic effect created by man which commonly occurs within glow sticks. Same two chemicals are within glow sticks and these dinoflagellates. One is with the exception that man did not part take in combining these two chemicals in any way.
